Consulting books and documentation
The Library contains 24 reading posts, as well as equipment for accessing the Internet and viewing audio-visual materials. Most of the documentary archive is available for consultation in the room.
A bibliographical information service available at all times during opening hours, will resolve any doubts that users might have about the Library and its documents collection. Enquiries can also be made by e-mail: biblioteca@artium.eus; or by phone: 945 20 90 12. E-mails will be responded to as quickly as possible.
Borrowing films, comics and literary works
The Library's collection of comics, literary works and films is available to borrow. In order to request a borrowing, it is necessary to register as a user. Registration is free and immediate and takes place at the Library's information point. Applicants are required to provide an official identity card.
Within the above-mentioned materials, those documents that so indicate and those that are necessary for the museum's activities are excluded from the borrowing service. The rest of the Museum's documentary collection is not available to borrow.

Acquisition requests
Users of the Artium Museoa Library may suggest the acquisition of bibliographic collections (books, journals, videos, DVDs, etc.) related to the theme of the Documentation Centre.
All you need to do is send a message to biblioteca@artium.eus. All requests will be analysed and if they are considered suitable, they will be processed.
Inter-library loans
The aim of the inter-library loan service is to exchange and obtain documents between different libraries and documentation centres.
Service for libraries
Copying funds
The library offers a document reproduction service to its users. This will be done in compliance with the regulations established by the Intellectual Property Law. The funds reproduced will be exclusively used for the purpose of personal research of a cultural or scientific nature, not for commercial use.
Documents that are more than 50 years old and those which, due to their special characteristics, may be at risk cannot be photocopied: rare, valuable, large or specially preserved editions. The Library is not responsible for the use that may be given to reproduced materials in contravention of the rights protected by Law.
Since 2002, ARTIUM has organised Encounters between Contemporary Art Archive Departments on a two-yearly basis. This is a forum for debate and exchange of knowledge about the work done by these entities and their prospects for the future.
These seminars provide an opportunity to analyse new documentary supports and the effect new technologies are having on documentation centres, as well as the changes these technologies are bringing about in the development of the activities of these centres.
