Artium Museum has been organising these Encounters of Contemporary Art Documentation Centres on a biennial basis since 2002. They were set up to provide a forum for analysing the role of documentation centres in relation to new strategies for the management and dissemination of information, as well as to take advantage of communication technologies to promote cooperation programmes among these centres.

Over the course of the various editions, these Encounters have served as a framework for information professionals to exchange experiences, reflect on new management strategies, generate debate and promote collaborative actions that can contribute to promoting research and offering quality products and services in line with the needs of society.

This edition aims to address the development of projects in heritage centres, the management of archives and special collections, comprehensive access to information and the gender perspective in documentary collections, among other topics.
