Documentation Congress 2020

X Encounter of Contemporary Art Documentation Centres: Archive and Special Collection Management in Heritage Centres

Artium Museum, Vitoria-Gasteiz, 22 and 23 October 2020

Artium Museum has been organising these Encounters of Contemporary Art Documentation Centres on a biennial basis since 2002. They were set up to provide a forum for analysing the role of documentation centres in relation to new strategies for the management and dissemination of information, as well as to take advantage of communication technologies to promote cooperation programmes among these centres.

Over the course of the various editions, these Encounters have served as a framework for information professionals to exchange experiences, reflect on new management strategies, generate debate and promote collaborative actions that can contribute to promoting research and offering quality products and services in line with the needs of society.

This edition aims to analyse the management of documentary heritage in specialised centres and to learn about the various digital projects that are currently under way in museums, universities or documentation centres, thereby helping to facilitate collective learning and the exchange of experiences among professionals in these centres.
