Miscellaneous Information:

I am responsible for the Education and Cultural Activities Process and for the Innovation Process.

Until the year 2000, I worked in New York City where I travelled following the completion of a Fine Arts degree from the Basque University, to study Art and Education at Columbia University, New York. After completing my studies, I began to combine my work as an artist with that of art and education within the context of the Museum.

My work as an artist is combined, mixed and contaminated with art and education. Working in education from a critical pedagogic viewpoint and within a Museum context, with several different groups (different in the cultural, ethnic, political and economic sense, as well as with regard to age and gender) that reflect the multiplicity of the contemporary world, allows me to explore how we look and how "objects" regard us depending on where these are and who is looking at them, how we understand the world we live in.

I have worked in a number of different education departments: MOMA,  The Bronx Museum, El Museo del Barrio, Yeshiva University and Guggenheim NY. Since August 2001, my work in education has concentrated on the educational project of Artium. This is an innovating educational model based on creativity and participation, collaboration and shared learning through the generation of knowledge among all participants. I take part on a regular basis in a number of different research projects both in Europe and in the United States, such as the CSIC, School of Visual Arts, Columbia University, etc.

Some of my exhibitions as an artist include: Sala Rekalde (Bilbao), Casa de América (Madrid), CCE Bard College, Parker’s Box, Art in General and Bronx Museum (New York), São Paulo Cultural Centre (Brazil) and Museu de Arte Contemporânea do Ceará (Fortaleza, Brazil), Aquarium in San Sebastián.

You will also find me on Linkedin and at my website.
