The Basque Filmoteca’s longest-running film series is celebrating its tenth anniversary since it first became a regular fixture on the programme. In collaboration with various Basque jazz festivals, our screens have been filled each summer with a programme of films that had to possess one or more of the following characteristics: jazz soundtracks, a focus on major figures in the history of jazz, or a cinematic style influenced by jazz.
To mark this anniversary, the Filmoteca has put together a short but exceptionally rich programme, taking us back to the origins of the finest American cinema and jazz.
