The third edition of the Lazos mecánicos (Mechanical Bonds) performance series continues to explore the possibilities of activating spaces through the work of artists who approach performance with a multiplicity of voices from singular sites of enunciation. Gathered together in Artium Museoa’s spaces over the course of a weekend, the various works are articulated from their specificity in order to construct an experience that simultaneously inhabits and generates a new context.

On this occasion, Lazos mecánicos presents a set of performances in which the voice is viewed not only as a means of enunciation, but also as a vehicle for vibrations that traverse and alter the bodies of both those performing and those listening. These actions inhabit the museum’s spaces and open up possibilities for collective listening and active expectancy, often intentionally engaging with the architecture or exhibitions on display.

The series thus becomes a device for reconsidering the ways in which we can be together, sharing time and space from the presence, resonance and materiality of a voice used in many different ways. More than an exhibition programme, Lazos mecánicos asserts itself as a field of sensitive experimentation in which each performance not only is inserted into the museum, but also transforms it momentarily into another place.
