The UNED Associated Centre in Vitoria Gasteiz and Artium Museoa, Museum of Contemporary Art of the Basque Country are organising a university extension course entitled Introduction to Contemporary Artistic Practices. The course will be held over eight Wednesdays in October and November from 10 am to 12.30 pm, with a total of 20 teaching hours. It will include the participation of lecturers-tutors from the UNED as well as professionals from Artium Museoa and the presence of distinguished speakers.
The course aims to provide students with a theoretical and practical basis for understanding and accessing contemporary art and the basic aspects of heritage management in museum institutions. Based on its objectives and educational strands, the course seeks to foster a critical understanding of contemporary art, the development of analytical and reflective skills and also knowledge of museum management practices within an artistic and cultural environment.
